Wait, it’s Monday already? SAY WHAT??
On Monday mornings, I typically wake up motivated to tackle a new week. This morning, I woke up with a burning desire to bake some bread (normal ???). So I channeled my energy into tackling one of the more intimidating creatures of the gastronomic kingdom….
One of culinary goals for 2013 is to experiment more with yeast, i.e. bread. And when I stumbled upon this challah recipe, after wiping the food porn-induced drool from my cheek, I immediately ran to the cupboard to check my ingredient supplies, and sure enough there was a caterpillar-sized packet of yeast just yearning to be transformed into a carbohydrate butterfly.
Observe:
While I may not have completed everything on my Monday to-do list, I did end the day with a drop dead gorgeous yeasty masterpiece that rivaled some of the best challah to every pass my lips. CHALLAH!!!

You carbohydrate butterfly is exquisite !!! Wish I was there try try some. What is the filling inside made of?
dried figs, freshly squeezed orange juice, and orange zest. any dried fruit would work too though!
